ME Awareness

This was the first creative shoot I directed as a newly-disabled person. The shoot was designed to communicate the onslaught of symptoms that dominated daily life and the medical dissonance I and others with ME/CFS are victim to globally. Visualising “invisible disability” through text, using the naked body, allow for the images to be both captivating and digestible for the general public.

A photo of Claudia shot in a studio. She sits on a white backdrop, completely naked. All along her body you can see painted writing on her skin saying words such as “fatigue, dizziness, invisible, disability, pain, nausea"
A cropped photo of the back of Claudia‘s neck and shoulders. You can see painting on her body of exotic flowers. Her hair is tied up in a plait and along her shoulder are the words “ or misdiagnosis.”
A series of photographs that look like Polaroids. They show Claudia in various portrait positions , painted on her face is the Union Jack. And all along her chest are the words, “the NHS forgot ME”.
